Sports: this topic sometimes is very difficult to have the same opinion on but we have one thing in common like in a lot of countries, football. It’ s the most important sport in both of the countries. The differences in football are that the
fans in Germany are better than in Spain.
Other sports are also important as well, Jonas told me that he sometimes goes to see Hockey matches and that they are very interested in it. In Spain, basketball is very important but in Germany not that much.
He enjoyed a lot Athletic’ s match, he liked San Mames and he preferred how Spanish teams play football than in Germany.
Parties: Before Jonas arrived in the Basque country I had tried a lot of times to explain to him how the festivals were but it was very difficult to explain it because they have never seen how we celebrate the festivities of a town. He told me that they do the parties normally in closed places like houses or discotheques. In order to explain how parties are done here, we went to San Miguel and they enjoyed a lot and they liked this way to celebrate a party better. He told me that in Germany they do big parties and very funny with a lot of people so I am excited to have one.
Gastronomy: this also is very different, there are some things that are equal in the Basque country and in Germany, for example fast food, some fishes and some meat. The way we have it is also different, we have few things for breakfast and they eat a lot in the morning and they use a lot different types of bread for breakfast, like I have said at the beginning, for lunch we eat a lot and they eat a sandwich or a bocata and they don’ t use bread for dinner. Traditional plates are also different, for me our food is the best but I have to taste German food to compare it to. When Jonas was here he liked most of the food and he liked the rice a lot.
There are some typical foods from two countries.
