DON ’ T CRAMP YOUR STYLE Cramps are an athlete ’ s worst nightmare . Here are tips to prevent them .
MUSCULAR FATIGUE Stretch regularly to prevent cramps . If you feel one coming on , stop and stretch .
OVER-EXERTION Pace yourself during the race because cramps are linked to muscle fatigue . Don ’ t push yourself harder than you ’ ve trained – rather push yourself longer and harder during training time to be raceday ready .
HYDRATION Keep yourself hydrated and follow this rule : if you ’ re thirsty , drink some water .

The mid-year holidays can be tough if you have young ones to entertain , especially when all you want to do is rest a little yourself . Luckily we have just the solution – let them spend some time in nature , breathe in the fresh air and expend all that energy by taking part in the newly launched BIG5 JUNIOR . This BIG5 Sport Challenge event has been customised for athletes between 12 and 19 years .

Dare2Dash Obstacle Course Here you ’ ll be racing against the clock to finish the obstacle course in the best time possible .
TUESDAY 5 JULY
Featherbed 5km or 11km Trail Run : Blue Duiker
This new route is for young and old , but mainly aimed at our younger athletes . All entrants will be awarded with a ranking in their own junior category .
THURSDAY 7 JULY

Get ready to test your energy and fitness levels with either a 1,25km run , 7,5km MTB , 750m run or a 2,3km run , 15km MTB , 1,25km run .
