Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day - the feast of lovers is celebrated annually on February 14, it started in the Middle Ages and continues until today.

The patron of Valentine’s Day is Saint Valentine. He lived in ancient Rome during the reign of Emperor Claudius II Gocki, who forbade young men to enter into marriage. Saint Valentine broke the ban and secretly was giving weddings. He was thrown in jail for it.

He met and healed the daughter of the prisoner's bearer from blindness

and later he married her. For this act,

the emperor sentenced him to death.

St. Valentine left a letter for

the daughter of the bearer

who signed

"From Your Valentine".
