SPECTRUM
SIMSR Talkies
SIMSR Talkies is the movie club of SIMSR started
by a few ardent movie enthusiasts with the aim of
providing regular entertainment to the students. By
far the most celebrated club, it occupies a special
place in every student's heart. It's the club
comprising of students who are enthused about
movies, be it Bollywood, Hollywood or any other
cinema. Its primary objective has always been to
impart the knowledge through movies as they can
be a great, fun source of learning. Movies such as
'12 Angry Men' impart the negotiation power and
'Invictus' teaches leadership and other required
management traits. Moreover, it also collaborates
movie and television fans in a constructive
environment where their opinions are both
considered and appreciated.
Films are a prime inspirational source for college
students. There are a lot of good documentaries
that show us different realities of the world. Keeping
this in mind our club screens movies at regular
intervals. Before the screening, a member spends
five minutes with the audience to inform them
about the various management principles reflected
in the movie. With the commencement of the new
session, two movies have already been screened.
One of them is 'Sarfarosh', which was screened on
the occasion of Independence Day and the other is
'Rush', a movie on the dramatic rivalry between the
two world F1 champions.
Besides movie screenings, SIMSR Talkies also
organizes movie quizzes that brings together
movie aficionados and quizzing enthusiasts on the
same platform to battle it out. The quiz consists of
movie related questions, trivia, dialogues.
Basically anything a movie lover ought to know.
Studio 77 is the latest venture from SIMSR Talkies.
It is a movie magazine that focuses on various
genres of movies like sci-fi, horror, comedy, drama,
etc. It also focuses on directors like Christopher
Nolan, Quentin Tarantino; their style, the science

etc. Besides this the magazine contains movie
reviews written by student members of our club. We
also invite guest articles by other students and
faculties .Though we are a closed club with a few
members, but are open to anyone who is not
merely a spectator but knowledgeable about
