SPECTRUM
The much talked about Social Media wave has taken a new level by becoming a high involvement, low
cost business. Not surprisingly, teenagers and young adults are the most fanatic users of these social
media sites as it gives them a platform to keep themselves updated and maintain their networks. Out of the
several strategies and campaigns that have been running on social media platforms, Theme tags or bucket
lists has been quite successful - a post that requires people to tag their friends upon a certain pre-defined
theme. Some of the famous theme tags in the recent past were Book Bucket Challenge, Ice bucket
challenge, and Movie bucket challenge.
On similar lines, LABEL embarked an online campaign related to the retail industry, named as, LABEL
brand challenge. Students were encouraged to relate a minimum of three friends to a brand that defines
them, which in turn, was to be continued by those three people. The posts were tagged as
#LABELbrandchallange. The campaign was received well and went viral very soon with the tags and posts
by more than 300 people from the college in a week's time. Further, LABEL announced best brand tags to
the students who tagged their friends in the most interesting manner. This proved that an interesting idea
and a motivating fun quotient, work well for the youth and social media is the best place to keep them
engaged.
