Elliottt adds that the quartz waterfall countertops were a splurge , as were the lighting fixtures and cabinetry hardware . “ These are items I always notice when walking into clients ’ homes ,” she says . “ We also decided to have the shiplap sprayed with primer offsite before installing . This cost a little more than doing it ourselves , but it was a huge time saver .”
Post renovation , Elliott reveals that they chose to sell the home . “ We decided to take advantage of the booming real estate market at the time ,” she says . “ Our realtor , a good friend and client , allowed me to go through her inventory and pick the pieces I wanted to use in the space . The curated furnishings were a mix between our own and what she brought in for staging . We also shopped together for additional pieces until I got the look I had originally envisioned ”
From start to finish , it ’ s clear that Elliott and McDonald went the extra mile to create an impeccable space . The home is bright , modern , functional , and cohesive . “ I love the floating shelves in the kitchen . I thought I would really miss having the upper cabinets , but since we added a pantry where the doorway to the hallway was , I actually feel we gained more storage ,” says Elliottt . “ And I really love how the principal bedroom turned out . It feels very beachy and airy . Ben made the bed based on a sketch I did one night . I just love how it unintentionally ended up working so perfectly with the wood shelves in the ensuite .”
