OLD COLLEGIANS’ OCCASIONS
KCOCA Bursaries and Scholarships 2013
In February the current award holders were invited to their annual meeting with KCOCA, represented by President Andy BAKER( Parnell, 1979-83), Board Representative Clare
LITTEN( Middlemore, 1986-87) and Executive Officer Jennifer Hargrave; and the College by the Headmaster Bradley Fenner with Admissions Director Mark Kennelly.
The nine recipients and 14 parents were addressed by the President and the Headmaster.
In welcoming the students and their parents, the President spoke of the opportunities to which they were exposed and the privilege it was to be granted a bursary. Acknowledging the importance to the Association of this programme, KCOCA’ s largest financial commitment, Andy Baker explained that at the core of the bursary philosophy was the desire to provide an opportunity to benefit from a King’ s education for some who would not be able to do so without financial assistance.
He challenged them to make the most of the wonderful opportunity they had been granted by participating fully in all the College had to offer and reassured the students that the Association takes a strong, on-going interest in their progress and performance.
The Headmaster reinforced the College’ s appreciation of the KCOCA programme and spoke also of the great scope for the students to develop and expand their horizons by fully participating in all the College had available.
