Manhattan Childrens Center Collaboration Continues
Saint David ’ s resumed its partnership with the Manhattan Childrens Center , a school for children with autism spectrum disorder , after having been put on hold during the pandemic . Each month , our second graders visit with students at MCC . In preparation for the visits , an educator from MCC engaged our second graders in a discussion and activities around the different ways that we can communicate and connect with others : verbally , nonverbally . Through this signature learning experience , boys learn the value of respecting , honoring , and embracing difference as they develop a deeper sense of empathy and an understanding that , while people may differ in some ways , at our core we are all the same .
