If so , you are partially correct . The Tuscaloosa Public Library is also found on wheels at diverse locations throughout the West Alabama area . The TPL Bookmobile travels to schools , medical and residential facilities , parks and parking lots . Almost anywhere , in fact , where people gather and organizations seek library services for those who might be unable to travel to the brick-and-mortar locations .
And did you know the Tuscaloosa Public Library has recently found its way into our recreational parks through the program , Storywalk , which involves installation of children ’ s books on walking trails ? The first permanent Storywalk is located in Jaycee Park , although several “ pop up ” Storywalks were placed on area trails previously . Storywalks encourage children to move from station to station along walking paths , exploring nature and reading at the same time . At each station , two pages of a book are permanently installed , and the books generally have outdoor themes . TPL has partnered with Parks and Recreation ( PARA ) on this project .
