KANSAS MARKETPLACE HEADLINES
SECURA DONATES $ 39K INCLUDING KANSAS NON-PROFIT
SECURA Insurance is donating $ 39,000 to 13 nonprofits through their annual SECURA Gives Back contest.
This year, more than 480 agents participated by nominating the nonprofit of their choice to win a $ 3,000 donation. That included KAIA member Charlson & Wilson Insurance Agency( C & W), who designated their donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Manhattan, Inc.
FEE INSURANCE NAMED A " BEST PLACE TO WORK "
Fee Insurance Group has officially been named one of the Best Places to Work in Insurance by Business Insurance and Best Companies Group. This recognition highlights workplaces where people feel supported, trusted and able to grow. " It means a lot to us because our culture has always been built around those values," said Fee Insurance in a statement.
Among all agencies nationwide, they ranked 16th overall and 10th in the small business category. " That’ s a huge reflection of our team, their commitment to integrity, excellence, and genuine relationships, and the way they show up for each other and our clients every day," they added in the release.
This caps off a strong year for Fee Insurance, including being selected again as a Wichita Business Journal Best Place to Work and being named a 2025 Best Practices Agency.
IN MEMORIAM- JACK EKLUND
Jack E. Eklund, a lifelong farmer, rancher, KAIA member, and devoted member of the Goodland community, passed away peacefully on November 9, 2025, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
A lifelong farmer and rancher, Jack found purpose and pride in working the land and raising livestock. In 1986, he began a new chapter in his career when he entered the insurance business, where his integrity, hard work, and compassion for others earned him the trust of countless friends and clients at Eklund Insurance.

Our KAIA CEO, Dave Hulcher, recently spoke with students at Washburn University ' s Principles of Insurance and Risk Management class. They explored the vital role insurance plays in society, the unique value independent agents bring to their communities, and took a look at current marketplace trends – including the growing impact of severe weather events.
