The access to and speed in which
information and news on the
insurance industry flows is truly
amazing. Gone are the days of
the paper copy of the National
Underwriter being routed around the
office only to be received weeks after
publication. The COVID-19 pandemic
highlights the importance of KAIA’s
ability to provide relevant information
to help members better serve their customers and make
good, strategic business decisions. In this issue, we look at
tips for managing a remote workforce, hidden ethical issues
we may have never considered, E&O issues with websites,
considerations of buying and selling agencies, plus more.
While KAIA and the Big “I” are proud to be sources of
content you can rely on, I would encourage you to explore
other sources to broaden your knowledge base, learn
from others, and keep the ideas flowing to improve your
business.
I know that with so many options for information, it can
be overwhelming. One of the ways I’ve found to gather
information and generate new ideas is podcasts. I listen
to insurance-related podcasts when I’m commuting or
taking the dogs for a walk. These are the insurance-related

After reading KIA&B, I encourage you to listen to podcasts
to discover what others are doing and generate new ideas.
The better informed you are, the better you can serve your
customers. Remember that KAIA staff is just a phone call
away if you’d like to brainstorm or need help planning for
the agency’s future.
