I worked on this new approach for our KAIA team this year to help us find a balance between the work that is produced and the “ added value ” that each team member brings to the table . I feel it has added another dimension that may have been missing for us .
HUMILITY AND SELF-AWARENESS
We all need to have the right amount of confidence in our role . Too much or too little can have a severe impact . One approach to assist with this is to combine a “ self review ” with your management ’ s review .
If your team gives thought to their own successes and areas for improvement , they are likely to have more balance in their day-to-day approach to work . Reconciling your review with their own can help with developing this healthy balance .
THE KNOWLEDGE IMPACT
Experience is a great tool for developing knowledge . But as this issue of KIA & B discusses , professional development can expedite that knowledge . Are you giving your team the tools they need to feel competent in their role ?
Developing a pathway for your team to learn is a great way to enhance the knowledge they bring to the table . Giving them access to CE , workshops , mentors , etc . can lead to improved performance and added value for your team .
