▸ KAIA GROWTH AND INNOVATION: ▸ ▸ ▸ insurance department issues affecting agents. Moved our CIC and CISR course offerings online so members could safely continue pursuit of designations. Twenty-one new agencies joined KAIA this membership year. Six new companies enjoyed the competitive advantage of joining the KAIA Industry Partner Program. We rolled out a new, streamlined website to make information on our many value-added services more accessible. It included implementing a new association management system that will allow members to control their data through InfoHub. ADVOCATING AND PROTECTING MEMBERS: ▸ ▸ ▸ ▸ We negotiated with the Kansas Insurance Department on a potential agent licensing bill, which would have created an agent renewal licensing fee. KAIA worked to reduce the proposed renewal fees saving Kansas agents approximately $100K annually, or roughly $300 annually per agency. Prevented a bill that would put limitations on loans agents could receive or give with customers. Softened language that provides the KID with flexibility in reducing agent fines associated with late surplus lines tax filings. Hosted legislators at KAIA headquarters on Monday nights during the Legislative Session. COVID-19 RESPONSE: ▸ ▸ Served at the trusted source for guidance to help agencies through this unique period in our country. We worked with the Governor’s office to ensure that insurance agencies were essential businesses and could remain open to serve their customers. 30
