BRIEF HISTORY Formally known as TWI & Dietz, TWI Insurance Services was born from very strong insurance blood lines. The TWI portion originated in 1884 and the Dietz was around 1940s. The two merged into one in 1986 where TWI Services & Dietz Agency became TWI & Dietz, Inc. Upon the retirement of Larry Dietz in 2017, it was decided to return to the roots of the agency and TWI Insurance Services, Inc. became the new/old name. Our agency has been an independent agency all the years of business focusing on personal lines, commercial lines, farm and crop insurance, life and health insurance and group benefits. When you walk in the door you are greeted with a smile, small conversation and a place to catch up on each other’s lives. We are not just our customers’ agents but their friends. We have changed our thoughts from getting the customer taken care of and out of the office quickly to making sure we have the little conversations and build that relationship a little more each time they visit. WHAT ARE YOUR AGENCY’S FUTURE PLANS? Right now we are working on rounding out all our accounts. We feel if we can build a relationship of trust with the insured and help them to protect all aspects of their lives, then we are doing our job. I’m sure many of us want to grow our book of business which is obvious, but we look at our job as helping our family and friends protect what is important to them. WHAT MARKETING EFFORTS HAVE REALLY TAKEN OFF FOR YOUR AGENCY? We are really trying to work more of the social media area by using Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Why not use the FREE advertising where possible. We are also using a referral program. We give a gift card to a local eatery to those that refer clients to our agency and we write the coverage. WHAT TECHNOLOGY HAS MADE YOUR ORGANIZATION MORE EFFICIENT? Last year we made the switch from AMS 360 to Hawksoft. With the change in agency name and staff , this was the perfect time to make a switch. We decreased our expenses without taking away any of the perks a management system offers. With the dream of being completely paperless within our reach, we know that without the management systems this would not be possible. Everything is scanned into the system and filed either to the client screen or company screen accordingly. We also love the work flow, which helps us to know what has happened on an account without having to ask each other. All we do is pull up the customer screen and the notes are all there to get updated quickly and to help a client much quicker. WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE OTHERS TO KNOW ABOUT YOUR AGENCY? Being based in a small town, you know almost everyone. Customer service is a huge part of our industry. As an independent agent, our customers come to us because they know we have their back. Whether it is dropping off a payment, filing a claim or just stopping in to make a policy change, we are able to interact with them and this helps to build a relationship that keeps them with our agency. HOW HAS KAIA/ASCK HELPED YOUR AGENCY? We have always been able to reach out to KAIA/AScK. AScK has enabled us to utilize markets for risks we might not have access to within our regular companies. KAIA has allowed us to be involved, whether it is on a committee or just attending the many educational courses. We have been able to get to know many agents from all over the state, which helps if you have a question in any number of areas. The recent switch on our Agency Management System opened many doors. We were able to reach out to different agencies to discuss their systems, visit to see how it worked in an active office and understand each of them before making a decision.
