| YOUNG AGENTS PROFILE | Brock Elliott Years in Industry: 4 Contact Info: [email protected] 913.963.6819 How did you get into the Industry: I’m a 3rd generation independent agent, my grandfather started Elliott Insurance Group in 1974, followed by my father and now me, I guess you could say I was born into it. What advice would you like to share with Principals who have been in the business more than 10 years? What benefits do Young Agents bring to the Industry? I would strongly encourage principals to be open minded to new ideas, I would also advise them to support their young people to join the YA (Young Agents) group from a time and monetary perspective. Young agents bring energy, motivation, competition and new ideas. What are your future Plans? How do you see the Industry Changing in the next 5-10 years? I believe we will see the relationship between independent agents and carries shrink, carriers will act direct with customers cutting out some of the service for agents. As the service portion shrinks the sales aspect is going to increase. I plan to continue to grow my book and continue to improve myself as an agent in any way I can. Tell us 3 tips that you would give to an incoming young agent? 1) Get involved in the YA group. 2) Take as many CE courses as possible. 3) Don’t become complacent, always continue to improve. Who/What has been your greatest resources in this industry and why? My dad has been my greatest resource along with many other agents involved with the KAIA. He has been there to support me every step of the way. What is your greatest reward as an independent insurance agent? The relationships I have formed with customers as well as other agents. 8 Brock Elliott KANSAS INSURANCE AGENT & BROKER |MAY - JUNE 2016|
