orking with the Kansas agent community is an
important aspect of our mission at the Kansas
Insurance Department. Our KID staff increased
our presence with you in 2015 in several ways,
from additional meeting presentations at several Kansas
locations to continued streamlining of our processes for
license application, renewal and continuing education.

Perhaps one opportunity that you might not be taking full

your clients
We have a total of 39 publications
and brochures listed on our
website that are available for agent and consumer use.
They can be downloaded for direct printing from www.
ksinsurance.org, or you or your clients can request hard
copies of them by sending in the online request form.
We do have a limitation on the number of copies we can
mail to you because of shipping and printing cost budget
considerations, but we will strive to provide you with the
materials you need.
Any agent looking for a quick and helpful tool to give to
their clients will find these publications useful. I realize
that many of you obtain some of the same information
from the companies you represent, but we think our
locally-oriented material may provide an edge to
informing your clients.

new licensing division leadership
I also wanted to inform you through this column that
Clark Shultz, our Director of Governmental Affairs, has
agreed to assume the additional role of Director of the
Licensing and Market Regulation Division at KID.
Many of you have met Clark, either as our governmental
affairs point person or as a long-time Kansas legislator,
prior to coming to KID. He was also a title agent in a
previous career. He has an extensive knowledge of the
people and companies that the department serves,
and we think he will provide a smooth transition while
the licensing and market regulation area continues to
improve its processes for Kansas agents and companies.
