Lima's Top Three Galleries

On the backs of the cast porcelain pieces on display at Impakto Gallery are poems inscribed in Chinese. The are mind images of beauty, short and succinct, and they allow us to see the thoughts of the poet artist. : “ Bird’s twitter and Fragrance of flowers”. I was very struck by these works and the juxtaposition of the beauty of the pieces and the poems in contrast to the images provoked by the forms themselves. It is with International artists works like these that puts Impakto a notch above the rest! They also of course have a strong advocacy for Peruvian art!

I had gone to this gallery for the first tine with a degree of skepticism and a tinge of “it ain’t happen’en here”, but once inside and actually viewing the works and the space I was pleasantly impressed. I could even say I was surprised. The space itself unlike many galleries I have been to in Lima was not cramped and cluttered, but was open and accessible. The next couple of shows I saw here blew me away! Impakto, immediately moved to the top of my favorite galleries in Lima!
