Year 6

Holly Lodge – Junior Ci zen

The children in Year 6 visited Richmond Park to learn about how to be a model and safe ci zen in London . With the imminent departure from Kew College in sight , the children learnt how to board buses , tube and trains safely , as well as plan their routes to and from school with care . They were given real - life scenarios to deal with and learnt about stranger danger and how to use mobile phones whilst out and about . Pupils were reflec ve and responsive in their thoughts about events that may occur , and every child le with a safety bag containing a number of high visibility items amongst other useful things , and be er equipped with life skills for the future .

Houses of Parliament

Year 6 spent the morning at the Houses of Parliament , taking a tour and finding out some of the history and tradi ons of the palace . The children visited the House of Lords and the House of Commons , seeing exactly where important debates and decisions about the country are made . A er the tour , Zac Goldsmith met our girls and boys and spoke to them about his role in government and what policies he is championing . The children asked though ul ques ons and tapped into his knowledge about the environment to help understand this important area .
