The first Chevrolet Camaro appeared in Chevrolet dealerships in September 1967. It was available as 2 door with a choice of six-cylinder engine and a V8. The first Generation Camaro was built through the 1969 model year especially built to destroy the Mustang. There were 8 in 1967, 10 in 1968 and 12 in 1969 different engines available in 1967-69 Camaros and the two speed automatic transmission was available in all 3 years. The RS Camaro package included the most powerful six cylinder engine, hidden headlights, revised taillights with back up lights under the rear bumper. In the inside it had regular cloth seats and black, grey or brown interior. The SS performance package included a 350 or 396 cubic inch V8 engine and chassis upgrades for better handling for the additional power. It also had leather seats, non-functional air inlets in the hood, special striping and SS badging. The z28 Performance Package was designed with a lot of more modifications so it could compete in the SCCA Trans am series. It included a solid lifter 302 V8 and around 100 HP engine, 4 speed transmission, power disc brakes, and two wide stripes down the hood and trunk lid. The new 2016 Camaro ZL1 is the best Camaro ever created. It came with a 650 Horse Power 6.2 liter supercharged V8 engine donated by the Corvette ZO6. It has either a six-speed manual or 10- speed automatic transmission and 11 inch wide rear wheels and tires. It gives you 12-20 miles per gallon and goes to 60 miles per hour (MPH) in only 3.4 seconds reaching a top speed of 195 miles per hour (MPH).
