BEST AMERICAN MUSCLE CARS
Muscle car is an American are a group of American sports cars with two doors (coupe) and powerful engines designed for high-performance driving. Ford, Chevrolet and Dodge have been always in competition, especially with their muscle cars. The point of the muscle car was to invent a car with great horse power and cheap at the same time. The Mustang, Camaro and Challenger are clear examples of muscle cars and they also are big rivals since they were invented in the 1960's. But, What's the best muscle car and why? What makes this cars so special and unique? Well, in this article I'm going to talk about these three awesome muscle cars and comparing them from their first generation to their last generation.
The first Mustang was invented in February 1967 with a variety of powerplants, styling and performance features. It was available with many engines and packages including the I6 Mustang, The Mach 1, Mustang GT and the Cobra Jet. The I6 Mustang was the cheapest one of all. It had a 4.1L 6 cylinder engine, cloth seats, and metal parts that made it heavier than the other Mustangs. The Mach 1 had a 5.3 L V8 engine with around 230 HP (horse power). It had striping placed around the body, dual exhausts, matte-black hood and bold-lettered Goodyear Polyglas tires and a functional shaker hood. It also had a deluxe interior with simulated wood trim, high backed seats, remote sports mirrors and other comforts. The Mustang GT was one of the cheapest Mustangs with a 5.0L V8 engine and around 200 HP. It had special 'GT' and '5.0' emblems around the body, cloth seats and manual or automatic transmission. The Mustang GT was discontinued in 1969 due to poor sales and the success of the new Mach 1. Only 5396 GT models sold that year.
