The results of the competition goes as follows:
1st place – Natasha Nurse (Sexy Suzie) with
De Wrong Name. She was truly a crowd
favorite and had the crowd singing and
laughing as she dealt with the social issues
of health care system for senior citizens.
2nd place – Sonia Francis (Singing Sonia)
with Shadows Message. The title of the
song says all, she represented the lat
e great might shadow with her use of
clothing, moves and singing style.
3rd place – Allison Bernard
(Warrior Empress) with The You in You.
She gracefully interacted with the
crowd and reminded us that a
masterpiece has no replica.
With this and much more the Annual
National Women’s Action Committee (NWAC)
Calypso Queen Competition was truly a
blessing and something worth experiencing.
It is only fitting that I leave the quote from
the founder of the NJAC that embodies
what this movement is about -
“NJAC was born of the people…nurtured
and maintained by the people. To destroy
NJAC you have to destroy the people
