It was KYD magazine’s
pleasure to be selected to

Annual National Women’s
Action Committee (NWAC)
Calypso Queen Competition held
in Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s on Monday 4th Feb.
The National Action Cultural Committee (NACC) and National Women’s Action Committee (NWAC) was established in 1974 and it is registered as a not-for-profit company. These committees are part of the cultural arm of the National Joint Action Committee (NJAC). The National Calypso Queen Competition, serves as an incubator for young, up-coming talent, and a forum for discussion of the issues which affect the women of Trinidad and Tobago. In doing so all women of calypso could use this to their greatest advantage and tell their stories with courage, authenticity and truth.
Through calypso we archive our history, celebrate our triumphs, and through calypso we have traditionally incited very useful and soul-searching discussion on national issues – long live this Legacy.
