Dear PLA Team & Family,
We are in the midst of unprecedented times; and you,
both individually and collectively, have displayed grit,
resilience, and hope for our scholars. I have so much
gratitude for each and every one of you for continuing to
serve our scholars during this global pandemic. Thank
you for your commitment and dedication to our
students, our families, and our organization.
We are excited to welcome you back to work; but we
knew that our school community would have many
questions around safety protocols as we re-open
campuses. Our teams and school administrators have
worked diligently over the past 5 months to develop
strategies to keep you and our scholars safe no matter
what returning to school looks like this year. One thing is
for certain; your safety, and the safety of our scholars,
have been at the center of every decision that we made
during this process.

The PLA Return to Work Playbook is a resource for you
to understand our approach to re-opening our schools
safely. It is based upon the guidance and best practices
set forth by the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC), the Department of Health and Human
Services (DHHS), the World Health Organization (WHO),
and other regional health agencies. This is a living
document that is subject to change as our world
navigates through this pandemic and more information
becomes available.
Again, I thank you for your unwavering commitment to
our scholars. Please know that our team is doing
everything possible to keep you safe in our school
buildings. While this pandemic may require us to pivot
between brick and mortar to virtual learning (or some
combination of the two), PLA is prepared to prioritize
your safety and ensure that our scholars will continue
receiving the education that they deserve.
