Policy to Report Con rmed Cases of Coronavirus Purpose: Phalen Leadership Academies require that all cases of COVID-19 be handled and reported with urgency and care. Our Guiding Principles: Keep the PLA community safe Continue to serve our students with the highest standards Do our part to slow community spread of the virus where there appear to be outbreaks, so that the most vulnerable people are able to get the care they need Scope: All administrators/managers should follow the protocol laid out in this policy. Guidelines: If one of your families/staff member contacts the school administration confirming they have tested positive COVID-19, follow these guidelines: School administrators should notify state health officials to determine what additional steps are needed for the school community. This information may not arise during normal business hours, be sure your team has after-hours contact information to your local public health office. (If this person has been tested, local health officials will have been alerted as well, but out of abundance of caution notify them as well). Maintain privacy and confidentiality of those seeking health care and those who may be part of any contact investigation. Students and staff who are well, but are taking care of, or share a home with, someone with a case of COVID-19 must follow precautionary quarantine instructions from state health officials.
