Environmental Politics
and Climate Change
Overview
Societies across the globe increasingly confront innumerable
and often interrelated environmental challenges ranging from
climate change and loss of biodiversity, to local conflicts about
land use. Each of these challenges has political, economic,
cultural and ethical dimensions; each provides an opportunity
to rethink long-standing debates and opens up new fields of
political enquiry. This MA sets these challenges in context.
The course is taught over a 12 month period (September
to September and January to January). It is available both
full-time and part-time. Students completing an MA at Keele
have gone to pursue a variety of careers in the public,
private and voluntary sectors.
