Hanalei Bae combines island plant and spirits
Here ’ s one way to impress your bae . Serve up the Hanalei Bae , a fun new specialty cocktail served at Hualani ’ s Restaurant at Timbers Kaua ’ i .
Bae , slang for babe , is a common term on the island for “ girlfriend .” The beverage features Hanalei Spirits , a family owned and operated craft distillery on Kauai ’ North Shore , as well as the ube plant , a purple yam originally from the Philippines .
Enjoy one with your bae at home or the next time you visit . Ingredients
• 2 oz Hanalei Vodka
• 2 oz Cream of Coconut
• 7 drops of Ube extract
• 1 cup of ice Directions
Blend all ingredients together and top with haupia whipped cream ; sprinkle with toasted coconut . .......................................................................
