On Friday, 2 September the Karoo Home School team competed in the annual SACSSA (South African Christian School Sports Association) EP Regional athletics in Port Elizabeth.
There were about two hundred athletes from all over the Eastern Cape! We were only fifteen athletes and had to compete against the bigger and better teams for the team trophy. But because nearly every Karoo Home School athlete broke at least one record and the fact that all our athletes did the most possible events in their age group, made it possible for us to win the team trophy!
Amelie Visser (0/12) was awarded a medal for the junior track athlete with the highest ASA points for her 1200 meters. Anna Blom (0/14) was awarded the senior victrix ludorum and Marilet Blom (0/10) the junior victrix ludorum. Jannie Blom (0/16), Anna Blom (0/14), Amelie Visser (0/12), and Marilet Blom (0/11) were in the top ten athletes for the day.
