ACHIEVEMENTS KAPS had a great year, widening our reach and deepening access inside Kenya. KAPS work in Kenya 2013 On-street Handheld POS KAPS recently chose to roll out its first handheld PoS system for collecting onstreet parking fees at our sister company, KAPS Municipal operations in Mombasa. This first-of-its kind initiative allows revenue collection online in real time, with reporting and analysis instantly available to authorized management to enable optimization and improvement of the services. The operations staff at KAPS have also been kitted out with new uniforms, giving a more professional image of the KAPS brand. This is why the management of the new state-of-the-art Pacis Centre, an office block situated in Westlands, contracted KAPS to secure the premises by installing automated spike barriers for access control. These ‘Tiger Teeth’ allow authorized vehicles to travel safely in the right direction into th e facility, whilst any vehicle trying to force its way in or travel in the wrong direction would get its tyres severely shredded. Facility Access Management Residential Estates KAPS deepened our involvement in providing access control management solutions to real estate developments when we installed an access control system to enhance security throughout Pangani Heights, a Neoplan project of stylish apartments suited for up-market city dwellers. This project was a definite sign of the increased confidence by the real estate development industry to embrace our technology-oriented access control systems to enhance parking and general security. Club Access The prestigious Karen Club has maintained its forward-looking security control posture by contracting KAPS to install an integrated access control system at the facility. The purpose is to allow each and every registered member who possesses a valid access card to drive through the club access points with minimum fuss.
