They met after school at Kansas’ s house.
“ Ok, since we two are the only kids that are black in this school, we have to start small. There aren’ t a hundred copies of us,” Kansas said.
Brice thought really hard, and then he said,“ I guess that’ s for the best. What should we start with doing?”
She laughed,“ I got all that figured out. We could wait for the next project, which is called“ A 100 years ago”, where we can write about how blacks contributed to U. S. A. in the civil war.”
Brice stared at her, openmouthed,“ That is GENIUS!! I could have NEVER thought of it! We could write about something even earlier, like Harriett Tubman! Then people will know how much blacks have contributed to this country!”
They high-fived and got started on their project.
