Jason: “This is really an awesome space for a gallery, its well lit and sets a mood perfect for contemplation. What’s your motivation to keep this going?”

Kate: “Well, I think I have been doing this for so long. It is my purpose in SL. When I came back, it was hard not to have a purpose and then I started the gallery again. And it all seemed to fall back into pieces with all the parts of the gallery. ”

Jason: “What future holds for Kate? Where does she want to see herself in a few years from now?”

Kate: I want to continue doing what I am doing. Maybe learn to make poses, maybe look into building something. My sole purpose in SL is creativity.

Jason: “ Are you a photographer in real life too? If so, does your rl photos inspire the ones you make in sl?”

Kate: “Nope, I'm not a photographer outside of SL. I sometimes have fun snapping shots with my iPhone when I am roaming around the city that is about it. But recently I've found myself checking out more images by RL photographers on Flickr. Perhaps one day I will take the leap.”

Jason: “If you have to point readers to one of your favorite work of yourself, which one would it be and why you like it the most?”

Kate: “I like this one called ‘Night time stories’ (https://www.flickr.com/photos/_froufrou/26289314884/in/album-72157651384488425/). It is technically not really good at all. And I noticed the book in the image is actually upside down! But it depicts an intimate moment with a person who is no longer in my life and every time I look at it I am moved. It is about a feeling.”

Jason: “What advice would you give to any one starting to enjoy taking secondlife photos? As a relatively well known photographer and admirer of the art scene, what advice would you have for someone who just figured out the snapshot button?”

Kate: “Take advantage of all the places and things in Second Life. Dare to think outside of the box. Join Flickr! There are many talented photographers on Flickr, I think that is where I have learned the most, really. I've also been lucky to know a few people who are great photographers and they have shared some of their knowledge with me. So talk to photographers. Experiment. Play around on PS, Gimp or Pixlr; it takes a long time to learn from scratch, but its true what people say about learning from mistakes. Have fun with it.”
