FROMTHEPS
I
am gratified and very happy for the sustained level of interest from the government, private sector, civil society, the academia, media fraternity and other stakeholders in the growth of Kenya’s film industry. The multistakeholder approach is a unique model aimed at ensuring the sustained growth of the film industry. The Ministry of Information and Communication set up the Kenya Film Commission and gave it the mandate to coordinate the development of the local film industry. I would like to thank the Board, Chairman and the management team of the Kenya Film Commission for working so diligently in steering the film industry in the right direction and making the Kalasha Awards a continuous success over the years. That is why it gives me even greater pleasure to unveil Kenya Film Commission’s latest kid on the block; the Kalasha Chronicle Magazine.

Dr. Bitange Ndemo, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Information and Communication as at December 2012
And as promised last year during Kalasha Awards, the Ministry of Information and has delivered a national film policy and as you also know the Konza Metropolitan City will host a world class film and media City. In addition, a film fund has been developed in association with the Youth Enterprise Fund. I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support in the development and promotion of our local film industry and hope that the birthing of Kalasha Chronicles will go a long way in promoting our film industry.
