81 October 7-9 , 2001 was in Kansas City at the Doubletree . The theme was “ The Winning Survivors ” in recognition of September 11 , 2001 , Terrorist Attack . Insurance Commissioner Kathleen Sebelius spoke on the impact the terrorist attacks would have on the insurance industry , assuring that it was closely monitored for solvency issues with the companies most severely affected .
82 October 6-8 , 2002 was in Overland Park at the Doubletree . The theme was “ Live the Magic .” Credit scoring was the topic of the Eggs & Issues panel .
83 October 5-7 , 2003 was in Overland Park at the Doubletree . The theme was “ Split the Uprights .” There was a Monday Night Football party , during the event , there was a sumo wrestling challenge , and Ron Dupy broke his leg ( and vowed revenge !)

88 October 8-10 , 2008 was in Overland Park at the Doubletree . The theme was “ Carnivale of Success .” The association changed the name of the conference to the Marketing and Management Conference . The Eggs & Issues panel was led by Insurance Commissioner Kathleen Sebelius and IIABA President- Elect David Daniel . It was based on a crucial debate going on in Congress that could determine the regulatory structure of the insurance business in the next century .
