named executive director of KAIA on February 28 , 2011 . Kerri was very instrumental in the planning and completing the Larry Magill Education Center in 2011-2012 . She resigned in 2016 .
• Austin Stone – Was on the first executive committee of the association formed in December 1920 . Austin was from Wichita .
• George Stoskopf - George was president of the association in 1945 . George was from Baxter Springs and owned the George Stoskopf Agency . He has been in the insurance business since 1931 . He was a member of the National Fire Protection Association and has played an active role in Baxter springs to educate the citizens of this problem . At the convention in 1945 , he stated : “ The Insurance Industry has passed the most critical year in its history and now is on its way to better times .”
• Duane T . Stover – Duane was one of the original Four Horsemen . He received recognition from the national association for his promoting of the national and state associations . Duane was president of the association in 1934 . Duane was with the Harris Burns Agency in Wichita . Duane died in 1940 .
• Scott M . Strong – Scott was president of the association in 2018 . Scott was the principal of Strong Insurance in Nashville . The agency was founded in 1921 by his grandfather , Earl W . Strong . His son , Joe E . Strong joined him in 1954 . Joe sold the agency to his nephew , Scott M . Strong , and his partner Gloria K . Theis in November 1990 . They opened branches in Anthony , Cheney , Kingman , Medicine Lodge , and Pratt . Scott received the KIA / 1752 Club Agent of the Year Award in 2017 .
• D . Scott Stuckey – Scott was president of the association in 2005 . He graduated from Kansas State University in 1977 with a double degree in Architecture and Business . His insurance career started in 1985 when he joined his parent ’ s agency , Cardinal Insurance , in Junction City . His father , Leroy , started the agency in 1966 . On his first President ’ s Page , Scott states that : “ he felt KAIA is somewhat responsible for keeping him in insurance by providing him an education , a network of great friendships and fun .” Scott had his Accredited Advisor Designation in Insurance , CPCU , and CIC designations . He served his community as chairman of the Junction City Chamber of Commerce . Scott was chairman of the community ’ s military relations committee , the Old Trooper Regiment . He served on the Board of Marysville Mutual Insurance Company . He graduated from the Leadership Kansas class of the Kansas Chamber in 1993 . He also served on Kansas State Alumni Association Board .
• Doug Smart - Doug was president of the association in 2021 . He graduated from Kansas State University . He started his insurance career handling crop insurance losses while still in college . It led to a full-time position with a national crop insurance carrier . He worked his way up to senior vice-president . He moved to Abilene in 1991 and purchased H & B Insurance in 1992 , renaming it Smart Insurance . He now has 13 employees and offices in Abilene , Herington , and Salina . Before becoming president of the association , he served on the ASCK board . His community involvement included being past-president of the Dickinson County Economic Development Corporation , serving as co-chair for Driving Dickinson County . He was on the worship team at Community Bible Church .
• Frank Sullivan - Frank was elected Insurance Commissioner in 1947 . He was Commissioner for 24 years , until 1971 . He was originally from Illinois but moved to Kansas at the age of 17 . He graduated from Ft . Hays College . He joined the military in 1917 and was discharged in May 1919 as a Corporal . In 1961 , Frank announced a Safe Driver Plan to Kansas insureds to lower their premiums . Frank was given an Honorary Life Membership to the association in 1947 . A scholarship fund was established in 1993 in his honor through the Kansas Insurance Education Foundation . Frank died in July 1983 at 88 years old .
• Will S . Thompson - Will was a Founding Father of the Association . He was also a member of the first
