GENERAL MEETING March 2nd, 2025 2 PM Canterbury Park, Shakopee, MN MINUTES
Board Members Present: Lynn-Ellen St. Martin, James Duenow, Lori Taylor, Rachel Duenow, Keith Sather, Paul Hansen, Julia Northwick, Dustin Heck, Julie Gintner
Members Absent: Amber Duncanson, Karson Duncanson Meeting was called to order by President Lynn-Ellen St. Martin at 2 PM Public Open Comment: None Secretary’ s Report: Liz Bauer
Motion made by Courtney Betsch of Wild River Riders Saddle Club, seconded by Kris Benson of Scandia Riders Saddle Club to approve the October 26th, 2024, General Meeting Minutes. Motion carried unanimously.
Treasurer’ s Report: Arlene Bayer The balance sheet and profit / loss statements presented were as of December 31 st, 2024

The balance sheet shows current year earnings and Net Income( Loss) for 2024 was $ 128,273.09. For 2025, as of February 28 th, 205, YTD Net Income( Loss) is at($ 11,646.46) and last year’ s Net Income( Loss) was($ 1,166.32). James mentioned that the reason for this difference is that a $ 10,000 downpayment was made for Champ Show earlier in the year. The WSCA Championship Show Profit / Loss Comparison statement was presented and shows that 2024 Champ show had a net profit of $ 79,920.77.
Motion made by Teresa Heck of Happy Trail Riders Saddle Club, seconded by Sara Smith of Double Bit Riders, to approve the treasurer’ s report subject to audit. Motion carried unanimously.
Correspondence: 151 memberships received to date, this time last year we were at 159. Liz read a letter received from the Minnesota State University in Mankato for their acknowledgement of the scholarship they received for Katelin Flack, which also included their appreciation for WSCA’ s support for higher education.
Committee Reports: Championship Horse Show: James Duenow
James shared that they are still awaiting the supplemental bill from MN 4H in the amount of $ 11,000, which would bring 2024’ s Champ show Net profit to $ 90,920.77. James shared information on what Champ Show 2025 to address many people’ s questions. Tents will be used for additional stalling. The need for these is going to depend on entries. 3-2-1 video is locked in again, for the live feed of the show. With that, two big screen tvs will be installed in the sales ring of Simon’ s as a designated viewing and gathering area. The hope to this is that it will encourage more people to hang out in the sales ring area, while they wait to watch their friends and family members in person. The committee is working on logistics for a bar and food trucks outside, to help enhance the experience of Champ show. Horse show tracker will again be used for entries. Simon’ s is making more area for parking and camping in the lower pasture. Two more inside wash racks have been added inside, as well as pull-down watering systems to help keep aisles clear. There will be an application process for vendors, to help manage space. Vendor applications are due June 15 th, 2025, with approvals done by July 1 st, 2025. Platinum and Gold sponsors will get preference for vendor space. A priority move-in will be offered to individuals who bring in a gold or platinum sponsor for champ show. The deadline to find a gold or platinum sponsor will be June 1 st. Priority move in pass would also be given to the sponsor, and they may choose to give their pass away or use it themselves.
