Vendor applications are due June 15 th, 2025, with approvals done by July 1 st, 2025. Platinum and Gold sponsors will get preference for vendor space. A priority move-in will be offered to individuals who bring in a gold or platinum sponsor for champ show. The deadline to find a gold or platinum sponsor will be June 1 st. Priority move in pass would also be given to the sponsor, and they may choose to give their pass away or use it themselves. Passes will be good for 1 trailer, and they will be monitored with serial # s. James shared that after receiving final numbers from Arlene, 2024 Champ show made $ 79,920 and this does not include the $ 11,000 owed from MN 4H. Arlene will share reports during the general meeting. There will be an online submittal form for vendors this year. Julie volunteered to contact nearby campgrounds for Lake Bllesby, to check out options for additional camping.
Computer: Jake Flodquist Absent. Jake has updated the headers on champshow. org and they now show the correct year going forward.
Drills and Squares: Marlys Mooney
Absent. Marlys spoke with Kathy from Menomonie Saddle Club, and they will not be participating at the MN State Fair this year. Wright Saddle Club will be there with a drill and square dance and The Flying E’ s will be there with their drill team. The Flying Es would like to ride twice like they did in 2023. Marlys will confirm with State Fair team.
Futurity: Kim Ziegler Absent. Lynn shared that they have been working together on the judge’ s schedule and award possibilities.
Historian: Tim Wampfler
Tim would like to move digital, by pulling significant events from minutes and then cataloging the historical events. Right now, he is brainstorming how to make this happen.
Judges: Lynn-Ellen St. Martin
The judge’ s seminar is coming up the end of this month, with the application due March 6 th. The committee received a new judge applicant last week, with his application mostly processed. 2 applicants will for sure be tested this year. There will be 15 judges attending the seminar so far. The committee is working with seminar speakers and working on the quiz. Lynn has received interest on the expedited judges process and has also reached out to other associations to share the expedited judges’ process. The committee is looking to possibly have people go to local colleges and universities that have competition teams and judging teams to help recruit possible judges.
Marketing & Promotions: Rachel Duenow Rachel presented the 2025 Marketing & Promotions budget for board approval.
Motion was made by Lori Taylor, seconded by Julie Ginter to approve the Marketing & Promotions as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Rachel has been working on vendor, sponsorship and advertising applications, and presented copies of those to the board. They will be available in the upcoming March spotlight and be shared on Facebook and the website.
Nominating: Ann Goebel
Ann Goebel absent, Vice-Chair Courtney Betsch gave the committee report. There are four board member terms that will be up. Those interested are encouraged to reach out to the committee for more information as well as complete the application. The application will be posted in the spotlight and must be turned into a committee member.
