WSCA Board Meeting Minutes
Royalty: Bridget Behrns
The Royalty Clinic will be Sunday April 6 th from 1pm-4:30pm at the Nordick Brew Pub in Monticello, MN. If you are the Queen of your saddle club, know of one, or what to be one, this is a great event to attend. The flyer has been shared on Facebook. Bridget shared the contest awards and incentives. The Royalty contest awards and incentives will be shared on Facebook and put in the Spotlight. The forms will be updated on the website, and dates of events updated On Deck.
Rulebook: Cindy Ladd
Cindy shared that rulebooks are here and available for each club to pick up their free copy today. Otherwise, they are available for purchase in person at $ 5 or $ 10 if you need them mailed to you.
Safety Committee: Corey Swartout Absent. Nothing to report, but he is available for 2025 Championship Show.
Scholarship: Julie Gintner
Scholarship applications are due May 1 st, and the forms are online and in the spotlight. Julie would like to encourage any member of WSCA who is graduating from High School or furthering their education to apply. Even if you’ ve applied in the past and haven’ t received one, you are encouraged to apply again! Last year, between WSCA and WSCF, 4 scholarships were given in the amount of $ 1,200 each.
Stalls: Tim Wamplfer
There will be no set up or tear down for 2025, thank to the crew at Simon’ s Arena. Tim is still actively seeking volunteers for set up in 2026, please contact Tim.

New Business:
-Ranch Riding, Ranch Rail Pleasure and Walk / Trot classes have been added to the new rulebook. From this point on, these classes are considered qualifying classes. It will be up to the discretion of each show committee, whether or not they will allow cross-entry from western pleasure or not. Walk / Trot may be shown in western or English at local shows, but at Champ Show it will be shown western.
-The board is excited to announce that we will again be hosting an Awards Banquet in conjunction with the October meeting for 2025, and planning has begun.
-It was with Lynn-Ellen’ s deepest regrets to inform members of WSCA that Dick Oachs has passed away. Dick was born in Glenville, MN April of 1936 and married Barbara in 1956 and together they had 3 daughters, Robin, Julie and Patty. Dick was a mechanical engineer and a truck driver and a WSCA Judge for 49 years. Lynn-Ellen shared how much many members of WSCA appreciated the time they had with him, and he will be missed.
Motion was made by Courtney Betsch of Wild River Riders Saddle Club, seconded by Kristiina Thumbs of Countryside Saddle Club to adjourn the general meeting at 2:46pm. Motion passed unanimously.
