Ghislaine. She helped to care for
her parents and husband until
their deaths. All of her grandchildren brought her great joy and
she spent countless hours rocking her babies. Her home was
always open to her large
extended family.
She is survived by her children, Solange Norcross and her
husband, Peter, of Vero Beach
Fla., Maurice Dubois and his
wife, Deborah, of Jefferson and
Andre Dubois and his wife,
Kathy of Lancaster, Diane Heath
and her husband, Jeff, of Jefferson, along with seven grandchildren, Tammy Heath (Sid)
Ahlbrand, Stephen Heath (Cynthia Cairns), Jennifer Dubois,
(Andrew) MacDonald, Mark
(Stacey) Dubois, Amy Dubois
(Paul) LaRoche, and Nicholas
Dubois; eight great grandchildren Heath and Vaughn Ahlbrand, Hunter, Spencer, and
Jacoby Heath, Elle MacDonald,
Reese and Hadley Dubois. Two
brothers, Jean-Paul Couture and
his wife, Elizabeth and Julien
(Chick) and his wife, Claudette,
brother-in-law Jacque Pelletier,
sister-in-law Lucille Couture,
and many nieces, nephews and
cousins. Her friend and caregiver, Marie Cameron, who
helped to ensure that Ghislaine
was able to spend her final days
in the home that she had lived in
for 70 years.
Besides her parents she was
predeceased by her husband Victor in May 2012 and an infant
son, Jean-Marie, two sisters
Josette Pelletier and Louise Lauzon and two brothers Albert and
Rosaire Couture in addition to a
brother and a sister who both
died in infancy, and an infant
granddaughter, Christina Norcross.
A Mass of Christian Burial
will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on
Saturday, June 11, 2016 at St.
Agnes Catholic Church in Jefferson, to be followed by interment
at the Calvary Cemetery in Lancaster.

JOSEPH P. BLAIS
LEMINGTON, Vt.–Joseph P.
Blais, 93, of Lemington, Vt.,
passed away on Wednesday
morning, June 8, 2016, at the
Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, after a long
period of declining health.
He was born in St. Hermenegilde, Qué., on Nov. 24, 1922, a
son to the late James and Emma
(Bergeron) Blais. He was raised
in St. Hermenegilde and later
moved to Colebrook with his
oldest brother. Joe served with
honor in the U.S. Navy in the
Pacific Theater during World
War II.
It was during a visit to Coaticook with his brother that he met
his future wife. They were married in Canada, and later made
their home in Colebrook and
then Lemington, Vt. Joe worked
for the Nugent Motor Co. for 47
years, transporting fuel from
Portland to Colebrook. When not
on the road, he worked as a
mechanic in Nugent’s garage and
at the filling station.
Joseph loved his vegetable
garden every summer, and he
enjoyed walks in the woods with
his children in their younger
days. He enjoyed doing jigsaw
puzzles and playing cribbage
with his granddaughter. He had
a wonderful sense of humor that
would make anyone laugh, and
he and his wife were always busy
doing something to help someone
else.
He leaves behind his wife of
65 years, Annette (Couture)
Blais of Lemington; two sons,
Patrick Blais and husband Warren Adams of Washington, D.C.,
and Donald Blais of Austin, Tex.;
his daughter, Diane West of Williston, Vt.; and three grandchildren, Amanda, Natalie and
Brendan West.
He is preceded in death by two
brothers, Harvey and Jean Blais,
and a sister, Gratia Roy.
Calling hours will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 2 to 4
and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Jenkins
and Newman Funeral Home in
Colebrook. A Mass of Christian
Burial will be held the next day,
Monday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at
St. Brendan’s Catholic Church in
Colebrook with The Rev. Craig
Cheney as celebrant. A graveside committal service with
naval honors will be at a later
date at St. Brendan’s Cemetery.
