Michaela Anne- These Are the Days
Drivin ' N ' Cryin '- Crushing Flowers
This disc should not be- these guys were supposed to be defunct. Formed in Atlanta in 1985, Kevin Kinney and company were known for their incredibly hooky songs and wild concerts for close to 35 years until the group packed it in. A great run, right? Lots of musicians thought so- as popular as Drivin ' N ' Cryin ' were with the public, fellow artists loved them even more. Which led to the latest rebirth- it was supposed to be a compilation album, including stuff recorded with the late Todd Snider and REM ' s Peter Buck, but these songs sound completely new... so, they ' re back! And some of their fans are really happy... " It feels like a new chapter for the band; more melodic, heartfelt, but still rockin’."- Peter Buck, R. E. M.

Michaela Anne- These Are the Days
A musical prodigy who first gained notice in 2010, it ' s been a long, slow climb for this native of Brooklyn, New York. Well, she was born there but was part of a military family, so you could say she ' s from everywhere. She began her career as a jazz artist, but when it came time to record her first disc, it was total bluegrass. A few more years and Michaela Anne grew to love the female singers and songwriters from the 60 ' s and 70 ' s- her discs from 2014 and 2016 leaned country-rock. With her last two offerings, including the just released These Are The Days, she has grown into motherhood as her voice takes on a new dimension.
