“ for the not so bendy” so I contacted the instructor Toni Goss. She is a very nice lady who was very informative to talk to. Toni believes that yoga is for everybody or, quite literally, every body— and her classes reflect this. Her lighthearted western approach to yoga creates a warm, welcoming environment for all who practice with her. Her classes offer a unique blend of alignment and thoughtful Hatha / gentle sequencing and is designed to strengthen and lengthen everything, from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes! Each practice is different with the intention of moving the spine in all directions, discovering the miracle of the breath and creating a pleasant experience for all ages, sizes and abilities.
A certified yoga instructor for 20 years, Toni updated her 200HR Yoga Teacher Training in 2017. She completed a Therapeutic Yoga Training Program in Santa Barbara California in 2012 and recently attended a seven-day yoga retreat in Kona. Hawaii, studying and participating in the practice of Iyengar Yoga. Toni updated her CPR / firstaid / AED certification this month to teach in Charbonneau.
Toni began her teaching career in Sun Valley, Idaho where she learned from the best and experienced many styles until she settled on her favorite combination. This is a slow hatha flow ending with restorative postures and is designed to send you off with a smile.
She is the past owner of Barefoot Wellness Yoga Studio in Baker City and before that in LaGrande. She has attended numerous yoga retreats and learning
opportunities throughout her career and learns from her students every day.
She recently moved to Charbonneau and is excited to share her yoga style with everyone. She specifically chose Tuesday and Thursday mornings to lure the pickleball players and golfers and the practice will allow them to have a good stretch that will enhance their game.
Off the mat, Toni practices yoga in the form of grand parenting, skiing, hiking, pickleball, golf and spending time in nature as much as possible.
All individuals, beginners to advanced, are welcome. The classes are on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7-8 a. m. in the Activity Center Recreation Room. Classes are $ 40 a month, or $ 10 for drop ins. Please bring your own mat and yoga blocks. For more information, contact Toni Goss at 541-910-4114.

June 16, Nonfiction Book Group: Our second season is a wrap, as June is our final month before our next season begins in September. We welcome new members who like to share what they read with others. The meetings run from September through November and resume in January before concluding June. September and January, with the extra time, are when we read longer books. We have a syllabus, showing books on the shelf and those that are added by our readers as the season progresses. We try to operate three months of books at a time, selected as a group. We meet in the clubhouse at 1:30 p. m. on a chosen Monday of the month. This month we will meet on Monday, June 23. A moderator / host leads the group discussion that all readers participate in. We enjoy a brief refreshment and conversation break during our 90 minutes together.
