Young Enterprise National Finalists
Written by Mrs Thomson , Business Education Our Young Enterprise team Tidal Jewels attended the Young Enterprise Ayrshire Finals this term . This company has been working very hard throughout the year to create a range of cards and frames crafted with locally sourced sea glass . All their products are sourced and produced responsibly and sustainably , reducing waste found on the shore .
For the Ayrshire Finals the company were scored on 3 areas – a business report , interviews ( which each person had to participate in ) and a presentation to an audience of students , teachers and businesses . We were delighted that they won the Sustainability Award , Best Product / Service Award and the Ayrshire Company of the Year 2024 !
In June the team were invited to compete in the Scottish Young Enterprise finals , which took place in Hampden Park . The group left Troon at 7.30am to head up to the National Stadium and set up their pop-up shop before participating in a series of interviews and giving a presentation to the judges and a very full audience of fellow finalists and visiting business people . Mr Docherty and Mrs Thomson were in attendance to cheer the team on . Despite the team not being placed , they were winners in our book . The team finally got home well after midnight after a long , but very enjoyable day . Tidal Jewels could not have done this without your continued support . A big thanks to Mrs Jarvie , Mrs Penny , Miss Robson , Mr Robertson , Mr Simpson and the wonderful Business Education Department who invited them into their classes to practice their pitch and provide constructive feedback – this was very much appreciated .
