TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU GOT INTO BAKING & DECORATING AND HOW YOU GOT TO WHERE YOU ARE TODAY ? My Mum & I attended a Zumbo chocolate party at Savour School and I ’ d won a golden ticket which gave me a free class at the school . I chose Petit Fours and loved it . I was unhappily working as a freelance / brand counter make up artist at the time and with the support of my husband , was able to switch up my career and enrolled in a full time Certificate IV in Patisserie at William Angliss . I went in wanting to do more gateaux work and also knew I didn ’ t want to work service . I got a few jobs at some cake studios & a patisserie and ended up really enjoying buttercream cakes . In August of 2023 I registered my home kitchen , began my business and then quit my patisserie job in April of the same year . I always admired Joseph Lambeths work and eventually started doing Lambeth styled buttercream cakes . They took off & I quickly found myself mainly fulfilling these types of orders .
I started holding sold out cake workshops in Fitzroy and immediately fell in love with teaching others . I became a Colour Mill , Cakers Warehouse , Loyal & Get Sprinkled affiliate during the same year so I was super stoked & grateful . I did my first tutorial for Cake ! magazine and then I was lucky enough to be the decorator of November on Cake ! TV . I did my first stage demo at the 2024 ACADA for a vintage cake & within the same weekend , I ’ d won Australia ’ s Buttercream Artist of the Year 2024 . The next fortnight I was flown to SoFlo in Miami with Colour Mill to hold stage and stall demonstrations ! I can ’ t believe how much has changed in my life for the better just by being able to follow my passion & my dream .
