Meet WASBO's New Mentorship Program Coordinators “D ouble the Trouble” is how Sue Schnorr and Jill Bodwin describe their new roles as co-coordinators of WASBO’s Mentorship Program beginning July 1, 2020. As many of you know, Mary Jo Filbrandt, WASBO’s Mentorship Coordinator, will retire officially on June 30. We’re thrilled for Mary Jo as she begins her next adventure, one which incorporates her passion for cycling in a new business, Around Wisconsin Bicycle Tours. We thank Mary Jo for contributing mightily to Jill Bodwin and Sue Schnorr the growth and development of the WASBO mentorship program. Mary Jo will assist Sue and Jill during the leadership transition. Sue and Jill are on a mission to raise awareness of the incredible expertise WASBO members bring to the table. They each look forward to saying goodbye to COVID-19 meetings, welcoming mentors and proteges, and making plans to work with WASBO members, regionals, and other organizations. Sue and Jill love WASBO and are excited to keep serving through the mentorship program. Until June 30, however, they’ll both be focused on helping their districts meet the many challenges of COVID-19. We’ll have another mentorship update for you in July. Until then, please join us in welcoming Sue and Jill to their new roles! Reopening Safe & Healthy Wis. School Facilities Conference July 15 • Kalahari • Virtual & In-person registration With school districts preparing to reopen in September, there is a critical need to provide our facility leaders with timely and useful COVID-19 mitigation strategies. WASBO’s “Reopening Safe and Healthy Wisconsin School Facilities” conference is intended to address that need. We are offering this conference with both in-person and virtual attendance options. In offering in-person attendance, we are fully committed to providing attendees with a safe and healthy learning environment. To minimize the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 virus, and to respect the health needs of all participants, specific COVID-19 safeguards will be required. These safeguards include a temperature check upon arrival at the conference, wearing a mask throughout the day, physical distancing, use of hand sanitizer, and other precautions. In addition, the conference venue itself will have many mitigation practices in place. We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
