This family is #GlenviewGOAT Jill Brickman, nominated by Carly Spina I nominate Jill Brickman and all of the Northfield Township Food Pantry staff and volunteers for the ways that they serve our community. They constantly go above and beyond to combat food insecurity for all families. They connect them to not food, but additional resources to support in all the ways they can. They also provide hope, joy, relief, and comfort! SO THANKFUL for Jill, Hilda, Kevin, Gayle, and all the amazing staff and wonderful volunteers! District 34 EL, Bilingual, and Dual Language teachers and associates, nominated by Carly Spina I'd like to nominate our District 34 EL, Bilingual, and Dual Language teachers and associates for working like crazy to ensure that our kids remain connected to learning and growing. They are doing big things to ensure that everything is accessible while elevating the usage of our beautiful home languages (we have over 60 languages that we're so proud of in D34!). Our teachers & associates have students' well-being at the forefront (basic needs + emotional wellness + academic support) and are reaching beyond the call of duty to provide support and encouragement! The parents are amazingly supportive and they are so involved in lots of different ways (whether it's helping their children complete their work, going on walks with their kids, reading with them in the language of their choice, telling stories to their kids, attending virtual meetings alongside their children, reaching out with questions/ideas, participating in our Mongolian, Korean, or Spanish BPAC, and lots more!). Our kiddos are doing incredible work and they're sharing their learning in such fun and innovative ways! We are so proud of our linguistic diversity in Glenview. District 34 staff, parents, and KIDS, nominated by Carly Spina I'd also like to nominate all District 34 staff, parents, and our KIDS for all their amazing work to keep kids learning. Our staff is working around the clock to ensure that kids have access to what they need. Our parents are doing AMAZING work and they are so appreciated. Our kids are INCREDIBLE, and we miss them so much! Blake Lamphier, nominated by Joe Pollina Joe Pollina's #GlenviewGOAT is Wagner Farm Manager Blake Lamphier. Blake is responsible for making sure all the farm's animals are well cared for, which includes giving them the right amount of food, water, living conditions and medical attention if necessary. He also needs to milk one of our cows once a day. This #GlenviewGOAT is also a hero to all the animals at Wagner Farm! Malachy "Mal" Mulvihill, nominated by the Glenview Park District‘s Gertrude Goat Malachy "Mal" Mulvihill, a front-line worker who is helping our community maintain a sense of normalcy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Mal grew up in Glenview and started working part-time as a cashier at Dominick's after graduating from GBS High School. He earned an English degree from Oakton Community College and began working full time because he enjoyed seeing friends and neighbors in the store each day. When Jewel purchased Dominick's in 2013, he felt fortunate to be asked to serve in the same capacity with them. This July, he will celebrate his 34th year in the food industry serving the Glenview community.
