Frances N. Haynes
FRANCES N. HAYNES
COLEBROOK – Frances N. Haynes, 94, of Colebrook, passed away on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Colebrook on Nov. 3, 1922, the eldest of six children of Richard and Nellie( Gray) Noyes. She was the valedictorian of Colebrook Academy’ s Class of 1940, and she later married Orville Haynes, the love of her life since the seventh grade.
Frances and Orville farmed for nearly 30 years, first in Lemington, and then directly across the Connecticut River in Colebrook where they ran a successful dairy farm until retirement. Following retirement, they purchased an Arctic Cat dealership, during which time they took many snowmobile adventures. Frances loved nature and the outdoors, the wildlife, and the birds. When they left the farm, they moved to a new home on Hughes Road where they remained for the rest of their lives.
Frances went back to school in her late 1950s to focus on library science courses; she was the Children’ s Librarian, and later the head Librarian for the Town of Colebrook from 1979-95. During her tenure at the library, she was instrumental in initiating many new programs, as well as implementing the addition to the library building. When she retired from the Colebrook Public Library Frances began the next chapter of her life as the owner of Fran’ s Craft Creations, a business that focused on rubber stamp art and scrapbooking.
She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church for many years, serving as President of the Trinity Guild, teaching Sunday school, and serving on many Boards and committees. Frances was the founder of the Colebrook Garden Club, and she initiated the Community Meals Program; an ecumenical program that is still serving free meals today. She was not afraid to speak out in support of her town and state, and her political beliefs.
Frances will be remembered for her bread, donuts dipped in maple syrup from the Haynes Sugar Bush, cinnamon rolls, pies, and many other fabulous offerings. She was an excellent cook and she loved to cook for her community and her family. The love of family and friends and her
faith sustained her. She loved attending her grandchildren ' s sports and other special events.
She is survived by three children, Linda Haynes Stonner and her husband, Tom of Goffstown; Tom Haynes and girlfriend, Debbie Delong of Manchester; Nancy Haynes Call and her husband, Duane of Colebrook; a daughterin-law, Mary Haynes of Colebrook; two sisters, Caroline Adams of Durham, Conn., and Lucille Bouthillier of Port Charlotte, Fla.; ten grandchildren, Greg Brigham and Cathy, David Brigham and wife Connie, Kenny Haynes and Kim, Philip Haynes and wife Kelly, Glen Haynes and wife, Erica, Aaron Haynes and Panagiota, Kevin Haynes and Mercedes, Chelsea Haynes and Sean, Ryan Call and Emalie, and Kristen Call and Jordan; 11 great-grandchildren, Nick and wife, Stephanie Brigham, Peter, Thomas and Allie Brigham, Devon Haynes, Aaron, Bethany, Connor, Parker and Ella Haynes, and Landon Call.
She is predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Orville Haynes in 2003; a son, Ronnie Haynes in 2010; three brothers, Philip W. Noyes, David Noyes, and Paul Noyes; and a granddaughter, Heidi Gebo.
Calling hours will be on Monday, June 5, 2017, from 4 to 7 p. m. at the Jenkins and Newman Funeral Home in Colebrook. A funeral service will follow the next morning, Tuesday, June 6, at 11 a. m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Colebrook. Burial will immediately follow in the Colebrook Village Cemetery.

Phillip L. Dionne
PHILLIP L. DIONNE
LANCASTER – Phillip L. Dionne, 66, of Portland Street, died at his home Thursday morning, June 1, 2017, after a sudden illness.
Phillip was born in Berlin on Nov. 21, 1950, the son of Donatien Lionel Dionne and Lillian Matilda( Findsen) Dionne. He was raised in Berlin and attended school there up to his junior year. In 1968 he graduated from Oxford Hills High School in South Paris, Maine. He went on to attend St. John’ s College in Sante Fe, N. M., for one year and then acquired a computer degree from Plus-Gray School of Business in Portland, Maine.
Phillip worked in computer industry in Massachusetts during the 1980s. He returned to New Hampshire and for a time managed the ski department at Eastern Mountain Sports in North Conway. Later he worked at Ziel Schuss bike shop in Gorham. Returning to computers he operated his own repair service and worked with the computers at St. Kieran’ s in Berlin. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed skiing, hiking, and biking. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp on Millsfield Pond in Errol and being with his cat.
He was a member of the Millsfield ATV Club and the Millsfield Pond Campers Association of which he was past president.
Family members include his two sisters, Linda Skillern and husband Bruce of Alma, Arkansas and Mary Shaw and husband Harold of Sidney, Maine.
A memorial service was held Thursday afternoon, June 8, at 1 p. m. at the Bailey Funeral Home in Lancaster. Reverend Timothy Brooks, pastor of St. Paul’ s Church in Lancaster, will officiate.

PAUL DALEY COMMITTAL SERVICE STEWARTSTOWN – A graveside committal service with military honors for Paul P. Daley, 82, of Stewartstown, who died on Jan. 12, will be held on Saturday, June 10, at noon in St. Brendan’ s Cemetery in Colebrook.
