We are so excited the construction has commenced at the CCC Clubhouse . The siding , doors and windows are finally being replaced . Yes , these much-needed updates will put a bit of a dent
WINKLER in the number of CCC activities and events we can offer this summer but that doesn ’ t mean we ’ re going to sit idling ! Read on for a sampling of things to do in and around Charbonneau .
Tuesday , July 25 : Wine tasting at Lady Hill with local historian Greg Leo
On Tuesday , July 25 , I will be taking a small group of residents to Lady Hill Winery for wine tasting , nibbles and a special presentation by Greg Leo about the historical importance of Champoeg .
Greg Leo is a local historian and has been Charbonneau ’ s government affairs counsel since 2004 . He has been president of Friends of Historic Champoeg and is currently vice president of Friends of Historic Butteville .
Greg will address the question , “ Why is Champoeg important in Oregon History ? In his talk , he will address pioneer life in the area and how Charbonneau , Wilsonville and Champoeg were all named .
We will meet at 12:30 p . m . sharp , in the parking lot at the Charbonneau Country Club . Good Vibes Tour will bus us to the winery for an afternoon of wine tasting , charcuterie and Leo ’ s presentation . At 3 p . m . we will be

Saturday , Aug . 22 : Portland Spirit lunch cruise
Join me for the Portland Spirit Lunch Cruise on Saturday , Aug . 22 . We will be boarding at the Salmon Springs Dock in downtown Portland at 11 a . m . sharp and cruising aboard the Portland Spirit from 11:30 a . m . to 1:30 p . m .
The two-hour cruise on the Willamette River includes fresh baked focaccia bread , plated entree selected by each guest on board , fountain sodas , hot / iced teas and coffee , live piano music and captain ’ s narration on the outer deck . Appetizers , desserts and beverages from their full-service bar are available for purchase on board .
Residents will need to provide their own transportation to the Salmon Springs dock and back so carpooling is greatly encouraged .

Independence Day Golf Cart Parade
The third annual Independence Day Golf Cart Parade will begin at Edith Green Cart on Southwest Country View Lane . Those wanting to participate should decorate your golf carts and meet at Edith Green Park at 11 a . m .
Residents who are not in the parade are encouraged line up along the route to wave and root for your neighbors . The parade will run approximately 45 minutes . Please contact April Marcell at 602-399-2406 for the parade route .
July 17 : CWA Ladies happy hour
Members , grab your friends for happy hour in the Pavilion on July 17 , at 4 p . m . Complimentary wine and appetizers will be served . The event is free however you will need to RSVP . Please sign up in the book at the Activity Center in the coat room or email to info @ cwacharbonneau . com no later than Thursday , July 13 . Summer meditation , mindfulness and centering classes
This summer executive coach Dana Brenner will be offering both a morning and an afternoon meditation course for residents .
She will lead a guided meditation and teach you how to meditate independently . She will also explore other related mind and body-based practices to support well-being , ease and peace of mind . You will practice walking meditation , as well as mindfulness in nature in this summer series .
No equipment is needed , and you don ’ t have to be able to sit in a pretzel position on the floor ! Chairs are fine . Wear comfortable clothing and feel free to bring a cushion for your back . Friday , Aug . 11 : Hands to Heart quilt display and textile fair
Stitches , an active Charbonneau group of textile hobbyists is hosting a one-day event on Friday , Aug . 11 , 10 a . m . to 3 p . m . The display and fair will be held at Charbonneau Village Homeowners Association at the newly renovated recreation site .

Saturday , Aug . 26 : Hot Charbonneau Nights Classic Car Show & BBQ
Once again , Charbonneau is happy to offer a great way to spend a summer evening !
On Saturday , Aug . 26 , at 5 p . m ., the parking lot on the east end of the clubhouse will transform into a car lover ’ s paradise as it plays host to the Hot Charbonneau Nights Classic Car Show . Hotrods , gassers and woodies will be on display for your perusal .
Admission is $ 10 and includes burgers and hotdogs barbecued by the Charbonneau Board of Directors ! Dessert too ! This is a BYOB event . You may also purchase libations from the Market Café .
Tickets go on sale Tuesday , Aug . 1 , at 10 a . m . in the Activity Center Library .
Wednesday , Sept . 6 : Community information day and raffle
All Charbonneau residents are invited to attend the Annual Charbonneau Newcomers Welcome and Community Information Day on Wednesday , Sept . 6 , from 5-7 p . m . in the Clubhouse . This event provides our residents with information from local businesses , community service providers , volunteer organizations and social groups all under one roof .
Iced tea , soft drinks , and water will be provided . And all adult guests will receive a scrip for one free glass of wine . Wine will also be available for purchase .
