A great night was had by all and Flip entertained everyone as normal . We were very busy but I managed to get a great photo of Jan , Steve , Nick and myself , only Lucy was
missing but a huge thank you to my wonderful staff who have helped me reach 20 years . Also thinking of Emily , Anja and Liz who have all contributed to “ Irish Annie ’ s “ and of course to our wonderful customers too . New barber shop in Nerja
A new Barber shop has opened in Calle Granada Nerja . Gary Jackson ( pictured ) a gentlemen ’ s barber with 35 years ’ experience in Northern Ireland has opened in the Studio 17 hair stylist premises .
Gary who has owned a property in Nerja for 20 years decided it was time to make the permanent move to Spain . He will be offering traditional and modern gentlemen ’ s styles and also beard grooming . Lux Mundi Jubilee
It was a beautiful warm , sunny day on Friday June 3rd to welcome the many friends who came to Lux Mundi , Torre del Mar to join in the celebrations for the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II . The Centre was decorated with Union Jack bunting and there were many additional queens to toast her majesty at 12 noon with cava and savour the home made cakes . Many friends took the opportunity to purchase books , preloved clothing and accessories and household goods and also to reserve seats on the
many future excursions . But most of all it was a time to join in with friends to thank her majesty for her long and stable service she has given to country and the commonwealth and also to thank both Lux Mundi , Torre del Mar and Fuengirola Centres for their long service , helping everyone whatever colour or creed in many , many ways .
Nerja ’ s lifeguards
Nerja implemented its beach lifeguard service early this year as the number of visitors continues to grow now travel restrictions have been lifted . As of May 28 , the beaches of Nerja and Maro have a lifeguard service . The service has been put into place more than a week earlier than the previous year , and 20 days before the “ official ’ start of the bathing season . The announcement was made by the councillors for Human Resources of
the Nerja Town Hall , Ángela Díaz , and Beaches , María del Carmen López , who said : “ We are implementing this lifeguard service earlier in response to the increase in visitors that we have seen as a result of the tourism recovery and the good weather we are having .” They also highlighted that the aim of the municipal government is for both residents and visitors to enjoy the local beaches as safely as possible . The service consists of a total of 41 people , including 38 beach lifeguards , one coordinator and two boat skippers , and will remain in place until September 25 .
