The Dubuque Chorale, Cadenza, and Children’s Choir perform a program of Broadway music, dance, and history. The theme is how influential Broadway has been in areas of social change. ROUNTREE ENSEMBLE Sunday, May 1 3 PM @ UW-P Center for the Arts The Rountree Ensemble is the professional chamber music ensemble-in-residence at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Their final concert of the season celebrates the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Sesquicentennial with music composed during the years of the Normal School and the Wisconsin Mining Trade School. The first half features chamber wind music of Carl Nielsen and Carl Reinecke. After intermission, the ensemble is joined by UW-Platteville’s Chamber Choir, University Singers, and Concert Choir in a performance of Anton Bruckner’s “Mass No. 2 in E minor,” composed in 1866, the same year as the founding of UW-Platteville. LA CAGE AUX FOLLES AUDITIONS Sunday & Wednesday, May 1 & 4 1 PM (Sun.) & 7 PM (Wed.) @ Grand Opera House The Grand Opera House will holding auditions for La Cage aux Folles, performing July 22-24 & 28-31. Actors should prepare 32 bars of a musical theatre selection in the style of the show that best shows their vocal range and bring sheet music; an accompanist will be provided. Actors must provide a list of all conflicts or potential conflicts between June 11 and July 21. Those wishing to audition but are unavailable to arrive at the start of the audition time should call the Grand Opera House business off
