is doing what, what is the position in the
market place, and they are trying to stay
ahead of the game – in a very competitive
market – to provide the best experiences
for their guests.
“We have experienced success because we
have learned how to be great hotel operators and we have a lot of good people that
have been with us through it all and share
the same vision and mission; to manage
and create great relationships across the
industry, whether they are financial institutions, franchise partners, or investors,”
commented Kinseth.
THE NEXT GENERATION
Undeniably, the Kinseth family is proud of
the growth of new hotels, the spaces they
have renovated, and carrying on as the second generation. But there is something that
makes Bruce even prouder: transitioning to
the third generation. Bruce’s son, Ben Kinseth, has been very active with the company.
Ben does not recall a time he wasn’t surrounded by the family business.
“When I was born, we lived in a hotel, I

up, and now I have been working at our
corporate office for the last ten years in all
phases of our business,” said Ben.
Bruce knows that with their leadership, the
future generations of the family will help
the company evolve.
“Every day Ben is using his millennial thinking to tell me about how new hotels are
being designed, because they are being
designed by other millennial thinkers,”
said Kinseth. “The third generation – our
children, nieces, and nephews – they help
us evolve with tomorrow’s leadership, and
they will help us keep the company going
for another 100+ years.”
The original four Kinseth siblings, Bruce,
Les, Gary, and Linda play prominent roles in
the company, along with Bruce’s wife, Lisa,

the company vary from HR to construction.

“If a guest visits a Kinseth hotel, we’re
hoping that we continue to deliver a worldclass guest experience – experiences where
the guest is very happy with both the physical aspect of the hotel and the delivery of
staff at the hotel. We work hard at that,”
said Kinseth, “We want people to come
back, and we want people to recommend
us to other people.”
Very recently, the Kinseth Group renovated the Holiday Inn in Dubuque. They
brought in top-notch interior designers to
help renovate the hotel rooms and suites,
the lobby, and meeting space, and redid
the aesthetic appearance outside. They are
extremely proud of the River Rock Kitchen
and Tap, the newly revamped and modernized restaurant and bar, located just inside
the main entrance to the hotel.
