HARD WORK AND HOSPITALITY
n 1963, Ken and Cyrena Kinseth
bought the Cliff House, a small hotel
in Decorah, IA. With hard work and
help from their children, Les, Linda,
Bruce, and Gary, they expanded the
property into a 108-room hotel and
restaurant.
After selling the Cliff House in 1977,
the Kinseth family bought a Best Western
hotel in Council Bluffs, IA, and then another
hotel in Clear Lake, IA. From the very beginning, the siblings have supported and
helped Kinseth Hospitality thrive, carrying
on the success their parents founded.
The Holiday Inn is full of energy and has
been going through many renovations and
improvements. Some of these include hotel
room upgrades, new carpet and draperies,
exterior improvements, and a complete restaurant remodel.
The Kinseth Hospitality Companies, located
in North Liberty, IA, has made this renovation possible with their vision of hospitality, a
great atmosphere and an enticing menu.
This family run business owns and operates
multiple hotels including the Holiday Inn in
historic downtown Dubuque.
The former “Beefstro” restaurant is now the
River Rock Kitchen and Tap.
Bruce Kinseth, Executive Vice President
of Kinseth Hospitality Companies, says
the mission has remained the same over
the years: to continue to grow as one of
the most competitive, hard-working, and
performance-driven hotel management
companies in the country. They do this by
upholding a commitment to hire, train, and
develop the most talented associates in the
industry, to take exceptional care of their
guests, and deliver result-driven financial
success to their business owners, investors,
and developers.
Great success did not happen overnight,
and Bruce attributes many factors to the
success of the company.
“The hotel industry has changed so much
over the last 40 years, and we never envisioned what it would be today or what our
place would be, but we started with a good
work ethic and a good background from our
parents, so when we got into it and learned
the business, we had no idea we would be
at 65 hotels in several states today,” said
Kinseth.
The company continues to expand their
business footprint by affiliating with the
best brands in the industry. Constantly
evolving and changing their company is
imperative because they are always seeking out new environments, looking at what
new hotel brands are bei
