The construction of the image of Álvaro Uribe Vélez into the political cartoon
The case of“ Matador”
Abstract: In this paper, the author ' s interest is to identify the image created by of the Colombian ex – President Álvaro Uribe Vélez in the cartoons of Julio Cesar Gonzalez " Matador ", Colombian cartoonist who publishes in the newspaper El Tiempo. The analysis is performed taking into account the resources metaphoric, metonymic and transtextual present in the cartoons. We work primarily with the concept of transtextuality defined of Gerard Genette, and we work the concepts of metaphor and metonymy of George Lakoff and Mark Johnson and Mary Joseph Joseph Cuenca and Hilferty. To carry out the analysis were constructed the following categories: innocent Uribe, clever Uribe and messiah Uribe, created from the identification of the key features in the cartoons printed cartoonist. Corpus selection was made taking into account two factors: first, the three cartoons were made after the end of Uribe ' s second term, which allows for an evaluation of his administration. Second, the three contain a high load semantics.

Resumo: O interesse do autor neste trabalho é identificar a imagem é construída do ex-presidente da Colômbia, Alvaro Uribe Velez nos desenhos animados de Julio Cesar Gonzalez " Matador ", cartunista colombiano que publica no jornal El Tiempo. A análise é realizada tendo em conta os recursos metafóricos, metonímica e transtextual que estão presentes em desenhos animados. Ele trabalha principalmente com o conceito definido por Gerard Genette transtextualidade, os conceitos de metáfora e metonímia de George Lakoff e Mark Johnson e Joseph Maria José Cuenca e Hilferty. Para realizar a análise são construídos seguintes categorías: Uribe inocente, Uribe astuto e Uribe messias, criado a partir da identificação das características fundamentais das caricaturas do artista. Corpus seleção foi feita levando-se em conta dois fatores: Primeiro, os três desenhos foram feitos após o fim do segundo mandato de Uribe, permitindo uma avaliação de sua administração. Em segundo lugar, os três conter uma semântica de carga elevada.
